一般在合夥公司的名稱前面加上「M/S」，以表明該公司是由若干合夥人組成的公司，而不是獨資企業。
M/S是Mrs的復數形式，而Mrs是法語的復數形式。例如，M/S Batliwala & Co (Baltiwala & Co公司中除了Batliwala以外還有其他合夥人)。在印度，這一術語有時也被錯誤地用於股份公司的名稱中，例如M/S依賴工業有限公司。這是不正確的，因為根據法律，股份公司是法人。不過這種做法已經流行起來。

還有一種說法，現代的合同都寫有一式兩份，因為以前民間訂制合同時就是一張紙，寫好後從中間撕開，一人拿一半，有爭執的時候再合起來，所以就有了合同和一式兩份的說法。
合同形式，是指當事人合意的外在表現形式，是合同內容的載體。我國《合同法》第10條：當事人訂立合同，有書面形式，口頭形式和其他形式。法律，行政法規規定採用書面形式的，應該採用書面形式。當事人約定採用書面形式的，應當採用書面形式。

這三個詞是英文合約結尾辭的標准模式，就權利義務的規范上並沒有什麼特別的功能或意義，與中文合約里最後通常會記載的"恐口說無憑，特立本約為證"很類似。
有時候會用INTENDING TO BE LEGALLY BOUND 代替，意思也是一樣的。

當合約之當事人為法人組織時，必須推派出一位自然人作為代表，例如公司的代表人通常會是董事長，代表公司與其它人訂立合約，建立權利義務關系。
除了董事長根據法律當然具備對外代表公司的許可權之外，公司董事會也可以決議授權某一個董事、總經理、或其它重要職員作為公司簽約的代表人。
此時與公司簽約的對方當事人為了確保這個代表人的確屬於ly authorized representative，可以要求公司提供這個授權的董事會決議證明，以妥善保護自己的權益。

如果合約結尾辭里註明的日期和合約最前面序文所載的日期相同，就用這句話表示，如果不同的話，就應該另以條款明定合約生效日（Effective Date），以免產生爭議。
